Dance Studio @Kingston College, Kingston Hall Road, KT1 2AQ
Kingston Hall Road is situated between Kingston High Street and the College Roundabout on the top of Penrhyn Road. It is a short distance from Kingston and Surbiton and is easy to reach from Hampton Wick and Norbiton.
Once you get to Kingston College, you need to go to the "Main Entrance". The Dance Studio is on the ground floor, in room G27. There is usually a security guard on hand to show you the way. If you have any problems finding it, you can always give Maya a ring on the day.
There is some parking available in the small parking attached to the college. After 6pm, it cost £2 for the evening. There are also many other car parks around Kingston which are very close to the college. There is a changing room and a toilet available.
I first experienced the healing benefits of yoga for the mind and body in 2002, when my mother introduced me to the practice, and it has been a constant part of my life ever since.
A qualified primary school teacher, I first trained to teach yoga to kids before realising that I would love to share the practice with adults too. Having dedicatedly practiced many styles for more than a decade, including Sivananda, Vinyasa Flow and Iyengar, I became certified in the Jivamukti method.
I trained in prenatal yoga with Uma Dinsmore - Tuli at Yogacampus and really enjoy teaching women in such a transformational time in their lives. My classes are suitable for all pregnant women – whether completely new to yoga or already with experience of a yoga practice.
My classes have a strong focus on mindfulness and moving with the breath. They include flowing sequences with an emphasis on proper alignment - so that postures are practised safely and mindfully – and end with a deep relaxation. Classes aim to both challenge and nurture and always encourage students to cultivate a compassionate attitude towards themselves on the mat.
My pregnancy classes focus on ease of movement and connection with the breath to build strength, bring comfort and to feel nourished and rested.
I feel passionate about sharing a practice which has been so life changing and beneficial for me and am grateful to be continuously learning alongside students.
