Hello,
I started practicing yoga 15 years ago out of curiosity and an instinct towards health and wellbeing. I had a stressful career in TV production and my yoga practice helped me to find peace and relax. My passion for the practice led me to train as a teacher and I haven't looked back since.
My first training was at the Sivananda ashram in Kerala where I spent three months immersing myself in the traditional practices of yoga. I then completed the British Wheel of Yoga training with Tara Fraser and most recently completed a Yin Yoga training with Paul and Suzie Grilley. Yoga is an ongoing process of learning and I continue to study and practice with Tara Fraser. I am also currently training as a yoga therapist with Yogacampus.
I have also been practicing Buddhist Mindfulness and Insight (Vipassana) meditation for the past 12 years and have attended retreats with various teachers in that tradition including Christopher Titmuss, Martin Aylward and Yanai Postelnik.
As well as the physical benefits of a yoga practice, my classes emphasize mindful awareness and include focus on the breath, flowing sun salutations, dynamic standing and balancing postures and long held passive yin style postures. I encourage my students to take this mindfulness practice off the mat and into their day to day lives.
I have a strong belief that yoga is for everyone and teach all levels from beginners to teachers. My classes are accessible, down to earth and friendly.
