Hopi Elders, Native Indian Tribe.
They say people start yoga for the physical and then stay for the spiritual - and that has truly been the case for me. I started practising yoga 6 years ago to keep in shape and to help better manage the effects of long distance running on my body. Having battered the pavements of London for many years running marathons, yoga offered a way to strengthen my joints to help prevent injury.
However, the more I practiced the more I noticed the other benefits of yoga - a general sense of wellbeing, feeling more relaxed, becoming more forgiving of myself and open-minded of others - dare I say it I think I became a nicer person!
This passion for yoga, soon became a desire to learn more and then share it with others. So I trained with Claire Missingham, in Vinyasa Flow and qualified as a registered International Yoga Alliance teacher (200 hours) in 2009.
My classes are informal and upbeat - there are no egos and everyone is welcome. The classes are dynamic but not rigid, so each class will be slightly different but similar enough so you know you're making progress.
In each session, we work on flexibility, balance and strength both physical and spiritual. Everyone goes at their own pace and I'm always on hand to help with adjustments and alignment.
My aim is for students to leave the class feeling energised, positive, strong, flexible and serene. For me there's nothing I love more than seeing people trying things out, learning more about their body and themselves!

"I love going to Charlie's yoga classes. They're really relaxed and she makes you feel at ease from the start. There's no pressure to be an expert or super flexible - all abilities are welcome and you are encouraged to progress at your own pace. I've been attending for a few months now and have noticed a real difference in my flexibility and muscle strength."

"Charlie's classes are stimulating and challenging, and always leave you feeling better than before you started. She's a sensitive teacher and manages to make yoga both spiritual and fun."
Jonathan Waddingham.
"Until I took classes with Charlie, Yoga was really not my thing. However, I find that Charlie always keeps her classes varied and interesting and makes sure that regardless of your standard you are able to really get the most out of the class. She always brings an inspirational readings, quotation or words to each of her classes, which leaves me both reflective and more positive about my day ahead. In a nutshell Charlie is a very gifted yoga teacher.."
Diana Burstow.
""Charlie is an inspirational and motivating teacher who takes the time to explain and demonstrate each pose, all with a good dose of humour. I like the way she combines meditation with some more challenging and dynamic poses. But for me, what makes Charlie's classes different to others, is the beautifully chosen music playing in the background and her legendary neck and shoulder "rub" at the end. Pure bliss!"
