Nestled between two striking hilltop churches which dominate the skyline, The Hacienda is a remote farmhouse set in 5 acres of private woodland and olive groves. It offers peace and tranquility in beautiful surroundings with countless nature trails through olive groves, wheatfields and umbrella pine forests.
The nearest town, Montefrio, is just 15 mins away and Spain's most southerly ski resort, the Sierra Nevada, is only an hour's drive. At slightly over 2,200 feet above sea level, the climate in Andalusia is one of the mildest in Europe - averaging 300 days of sunshine!

Accommodation:
The main house has 6 twin and 1 double bedroom, all distinctive and stylishly decorated. Each room is spacious with en-suite bathroom and private balcony with mountain views.
There is additional single and shared accommodation in the Schoolhouse, where the bathrooms are shared.

The food at The Hacienda is vegetarian and plentiful! A freshly prepared daily menu is created using a selection of seasonal local produce to create a wide variety of delicious and healthy dishes.
There is a hearty brunch after each morning Yoga class and an early evening meal after the afternoon sessions. A healthy cake is freshly baked every afternoon and there are always plenty of snacks available throughout the day to ensure nobody ever goes hungry!
The farmhouse kitchen has a wood burning oven and there is also a barbecue area in the courtyard. Depending on the weather,
dining can either be indoors in the moorish-style lounge or on the outdoor terrace.

There will be a Yoga class before brunch and dinner every day except for the travel and excursion days, when there may only be time for one. Depending on the weather, the classes can be held either on the large shaded outdoor Yoga patio or in the beautiful indoor daylight studio.
The yoga classes will be tailored to the level of the group and it is not essential to be an experienced Yogi to attend. A Retreat is often the perfect introduction to Yoga for beginners and also a chance for more advanced practitioners to deepen and explore their practice.
On this particular Retreat, you will experience a mixture of Asana (physical postures), Pranayama (breathing exercises), walking & sitting meditation and evening Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation).

In between Yoga classes, your time is your own. You can explore the surrounding Andalusian countryside right on the doorstep, lounge by the infinity pool soaking up the sun and reading a book or indulge in a pampering massage or sauna.
If you're feeling more adventurous, Wednesday will be an optional excursion day, giving you the opportunity to take a sightseeing trip to Granada city or the magical Alhambra Palace. The nearby equestrian center can also organise lovely picnic and tapas rides if you prefer.

"Exceptional Yoga in a stunning location. Stephanie genuinely gives every individual her undivided attention. The sense of calm that she instills in you goes way beyond the classes.”

"I really enjoyed Keirans Yoga retreat. He was very welcoming and had time for everyone, answering any questions we had. The Yoga classes were all different, interesting and clearly taught. I learnt a lot and will remember the experience for a long time and would love to do another retreat soon. I would definitely recommend it!"
